Project Description
|
The College of Staten Island implemented the use of ePortfolios at the beginning of the Fall 2009 semester. We chose to pilot its use with a group of students who are members of a baccalaureate-ready learning community, the Verrazano School. The students attended an English college writing course and a Core 100 course (college level civics) that sought to implement an integrated curriculum approach.
The students will continue working together with Prof. Levine in the Spring 2010 semester in the second semester English writing course, where they will continue to add to their existing ePortfolios. A new cohort of Verrazano School students will be introduced to ePortfolios in the Fall 2010 semester.
Assessment of the learning objectives and goals for the use of ePortfolios has begun. The process will continue as the pool of faculty using ePortfolios begins to expand. The use of Expo as an ePortfolio platform will also be part of the ongoing assessment.
